history channel documentary 2016 The Crest is presently a battling autonomous theater possessed and worked by a person named Bob. An excellent workmanship deco style theater inside and out..it's tragically at the end of its life. Sway has come up short on money...and conveys edgy messages to individuals like myself inquiring as to whether anybody needs to purchase it...Saw bunches of motion pictures at The Crest...EVE'S BAYOU, JANE AUSTEN'S MAFIA!, DR. STRANGELOVE (OR HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE BOMB), LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, BICENTENNIAL MAN, THE BABYSITTER DIARIES, THE HUNTING PARTY, THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS with my mother, in addition to exceptional screenings of CRASH and THE AVIATOR...
Thankfully, the debut Westwood theater still remains intact...the transcendent memorable Westwood Village theater...site of numerous motion picture debuts right up 'til today because of its huge limit, ravishing and glamourous outdated engineering, and vast gallery. It's front marquee is a site to view. When I initially moved to Los Angeles in 1998, I made a point to visit the Village immediately (having seen it on a visit in 1997). The Village was the principal theater in the U.S. to introduce a THX sound framework (in 1983). It was dependably a major excite each time I went there. Saw the same number of motion pictures as I could...such as TITANIC, LETHAL WEAPON 4, THE X-FILES, THE SIEGE, GREASE, 3000 MILES TO GRACELAND, RED PLANET, SUPERMAN RETURNS, STAR WARS EPISODE 1: THE PHANTOM MENACE, EYES WIDE SHUT, HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE (for my first motion picture debut), THE BRAVE ONE and also Saturday night's feature...SHUTTER ISLAND. On the off chance that I had my direction, I would see each motion picture there...
What happened to Westwood? I don't generally know...Before I moved to LA, I had heard there was a posse issue...Perhaps Westwood was at that point kicking the bucket when I arrived...I simply was excessively gullible, making it impossible to take note. Likewise, with the landing of prevalent outside party like the Third Street Promenade, The Grove, and The Anericana in Glendale...people have less and less motivation to invest energy in Westwood. Regardless it has UCLA, the Armond Hammer exhibition hall, a live theater for plays, two Starbucks, a few rec centers, and obviously the numerous motion picture debuts that in any case happen at the Village...So...it's not dead yet. I miss it appallingly, in any event what it once was...Yet I have faith...there's bunches of empty land there. It is the ideal opportunity for Westwood to make a rebound, it's been long past due...
