history channel documentary 2016 On Saturday night, I visited the old Movie Town...and what I found was more similar to a Ghost Town. Since 2006, there has been an uncomfortable mass migration in Westwood...everyone was leaving, and nobody was moving in.
Prior to the film on Saturday, went out for a stroll around the once exuberant neighborhood...what's left of it in any event. The 2-story Tower Records is gone...all of the other Westwood record shops are gone too. The Rite Aid is gone...now only a vacant space. I was stunned to find that even the Gardens of Glendon eatery (site of two dates before) had shut their entryways for good...with nothing in its place. The avenues now felt dull and lonely...there were a couple of things left however...
The In N Out Burger is still there...that's the place I took Ron a week ago. And after that there is Lamonicas...Thank goodness Lamonicas is still perfectly healthy. Used to love going there at whatever point I could. Phenomenal pizza...really great. On Saturday I had two scrumptious Sicilian slices...wanted to have 100 more. The subject of spot is all New York...making it too simple for me to love.
My Baskin Robbins is still there...I've never seen it occupied, yet it's generally open...even late. After my pizza, I would dependably get a vanilla frozen custard from the Baskin Robbins in Westwood...just as I did Saturday night.
After pizza and dessert, I would for the most part look at the mammoth newspaper kiosk nearby. On Saturday, I really wanted to quit by...checking out the music magazines as always...I was certain happy to see that the newspaper kiosk had survived, yet different spots were not as fortunate...especially as far as what has happened toward the Westwood motion picture theaters throughout the most recent couple of years..
